copy cmd with /v switch

Does the "copy" cmd with the "/v" switch actually do a 100% integrity check
of the file copied?

Or is the "fc" (file compare) cmd with the "/b" switch the only method of
verifying the successful copying of a file from one location/name to
another?

Please advise.
