Copy Categories

I like to back up my PST file by creating a new one and making it the default PST file, I copy the calendar and contacts.

I cannot figure out how to retain/save/copy the categories I had previously created without reentering each one manually.

Any help on doing this is appreciated as I have to do this a couple times a year and also do it for other users.

That's not how you make a backup. Simply copy your pst-file.

Where do you get stuck?
Which version of Outlook are you using?

If you're using Outlook 2007 without Exchange, you don't need to copy the
categories as they're stored in the PST file. For earlier versions you can
export the categories from the registry:
