I am in the middle of a project and want to switch to
another XP machine. I've already created titles and have
edited clips. I've tried to save them to a USB drive
with no success. Guidance would be appreciated.

When you say "tried to save them" - you mean, you saved the project file
(.mswmm) and all the files in the project, in the correct directory
structure, to the USB drive, then reloaded them onto the new machine in
exactly the same location and then opened the project?

Hello and much thanks for your timely reply. I've
resolved that issue on my own but have a new one. I now
find that the audio levels from the Camcorder tape and the
imported music must remain the same throughout the film.
I want the imported audio to go away during portions of
the film but find that the fade command lowers the volume
of the imported music but does not fade altogether. The
mute command takes out the complete imported audio. Is
there a way to break the imported audio into clips so that
no music plays at certain points. Again, much thanks.

I am just learning to work with MM2. I thought that
saving the project meant that all of the clips and audio
that was used would be included. I only saved the project
file to a USB drive then moved it to the identical
location on the second machine. When the project was
opened red "X's" appeared in the timeline. I managed to
make a movie file but I would like to learn about my
mistake.

Maurice,

In PhotoStory 2, your thoughts about what a project file includes is
right... but in Movie Maker 2, where video source files are used, it's not.
The MM2 project file contains links to the source files, not copies of them.

It's a good lesson and the word 'import' sets you up for making it.
