copied excel sheet to Outlook, printed page does show highlighted

I have copied an Excel spreadsheet to a new message in Outlook 2003.
When printed off the message or sending to a recipient to print, neither
shows the highlighted cells in the message.
As a note: On same pc, a web page prints off in colour, same printer.
