You may have malware on your pc, that is keeping you from reading copied
cd's, and or it could be your cd drive, a misalignment of the lasor could
also cause this.
are the copied cd's all coming from the same pc, or different ones?

Some readers are not finicky than others in regards to the media
that is being used. Try a different brand of media and copy the
originals to it. And/or, also use a slower burning speed. If these
fail, a cleaning of the laser lens might be in order.
