I ran the scan twice after checking all the options. Both
times no cookies were scanned even though the folder is
full of them. When going through ms spyware system
explorer if i click on the cookies folder the + sign goes
away as if the folder is empty. Any ideas on this one?

Although the Help in AntiSpyware says:

"Spyware scans perform in-depth scans of your computer's
hard drives, memory, process, registry and cookies to
seek out and remove any and all known spyware threats."

Ok , so at least it wasnt s.u.s (stupid user syndrome), I
realize this is just beta but what's the point in skipping
the cookies? over 80% of the items that are caught by
other anti spy software are cookies.

I don't know the technical reason why they pulled cookie scanning out of
this build, but something was probably broken about it.

Sure 80% of the items caught are cookies--but how significant is that,
really, compared to finding a keylogger or RAT?
