I'm trying to convert an image from a TIFF format and I've read that it can
be done through the PP platform. I can't get it to work. Anyone have any
ideas on this?

Thank you!

Insert your TIFF picture into PowerPoint using Insert > Picture > From
File. Then in the File menu, choose Save as Web Page. Be sure to save it as
a regular Web page (*.htm or *.html), not a single file Web page (*.mht).
It will create a folder with various files in it, including a JPEG version
of your picture.

You can also right click the inserted picture and choose "Save as Picture " >
jpeg

When I tried the html method I got a png and a gif (no jpeg) but I guess it
depends on the version and maybe the TIFF?

Irfan View is an excellent free tool for this sort of thing BTW.

Generally TIFFs will be stored internally as PNG, so PNG's what you get
when you make HTML (you may also get a gif or jpg for the small version of
the image).

This has my vote rather than monkeying around with PPT.

Plus it'll do whole boatloads at one time with more control over the
output and probably better image quality in some cases.
