Converting stubborn webs to folders within FrontPage

I'm having a big problem here...

I have a web site, within which are several subdirectories. One of these
subdirectories was converted to a web in its own right when I first got FP
2003, thinking this would be easier for my own purposes then. It is not, and
I tried converting it back to a folder. That's when problems began.

The folder still shows up in FP 2003 as a web site. So, when I try to
'convert to folder' again, it says there IS no web site by that
name/directory. Then, conversely, it will not let me open anything in that
subdirectory when within the larger site, saying it is not part of the
current web. Well, which is it- a site of its own or part of the current
web? It HAS to be one or the other, and it's not acknowleging either, so I
can't fix anything.

How do I solve this problem? Thank you in advance for your help.

Contact your ISP / WPP to have the FP Server Extensions Checked.
