My wife and I have created a web site previously in Publisher 2003. We are
having a few problems with uploading details and changes so I want to try out
Frontpage 2003. Can our .pub site be converted to Frontpage and
edited/uploaded?

Not easily. Publisher doesn't distinguish itself when it writes HTML. Can
you post a link to the site, though?

This is generally NOT recommended.

That's not what I wanted to hear Murray but thanks anyway. Does that mean I
have to completely redo the whole site again in frontpage?

You will probably have a lot of work to do. Its a nice looking site.
My advice would be to practice a lot with FP first...and experienced FP'er
wouldn't have too much of a problem re-doing that in FP.

Yes and no.. it's possible but you would be achieving anything you would
have the same hidden site as you have here, with loads of horrendous coding
issues too boot.

You have more problems than moving from a desktop publishing editor to a web
editor.

such as badly named file names and using a splash page, no meta tags no alt
attributes ..

I suggest first making a template in FrontPage ....

avoid the usual traps and skip the themes, navigation bot and shared
border.. and move straight to includes for menus, a dwt (dynamic web
template) for your template and if possible css for the formatting. There
are loads of free one's on the ms addin centre to practice with (make sure
it validates too for the html and css).. get some feedback on your template
and don't use it till your ready.

Since your file names are pretty awful and your site has no pr anyway I'd
use this opportunity to rename file names to good seo standards (search
engine optimisation)

For more info about seo I'd take some free seo classes

I highly recommended Cricket's Free SEO Classes
This link includes an overview of the free classes, along with a link to
class registration.
http://www.gnc-web-creations.com/seo-optimization.htm
BOTH the SEO Class and the Marketing Class are required. One must join both
BEFORE one's membership will be approved.
