We have OEM Vista equipment purchsed. We are also licesensed for Vista
Enterprise. I wish to convert the OEM license to the Enterprise license, as
we have KMS active, but not enough (25) for "critical mass". I should just be
able to use the script to use the Enterprise license and Activate, right?

You need a clean install with any Enterprise suite. Reformat and do a clean install of your Vista Enterprise

I thought Vista Enterprise is an upgrade license, which grants you the
option of upgrading a qualified full license that comes with the machine.
The real main purpose of VLK Windows Vista is to improve mass deployment
without the need to activate each machine individually.

You are correct Andre. But not an OEM that is tied to the machine

Sure you can, if its Vista Business OEM which already comes with most
Enterprise procurements, then, you would use that as a qualifying license to
upgrade to Windows Vista Enterprise.

The license for the copy of Windows maybe tied to the machine because it is
OEM, but it is not preventing you upgrade to a higher SKU. For instance, I
could buy a Dell with Vista Home Basic, the go out and purchase a retail
upgrade copy of Vista Home Premium or Ultimate and upgrade to it.

Andre

I don't know if it will. I am answering since I have tried this route before and it did not take. Like I said I had to do a clean install. Maybe it is possible but it sure did not work here
