Hi

some time ago, I GPS coded my local area with a Garmin hand held jobbie in
the following format: N52°45.274' and W002°55.363'

Because I want to embed a Google Map into a web page I have to use the above
code converted into digital format such as: 52.8349 and -2.8712.

Does anyone know of an Excel code that would convert stanbard GPS into
Digital?

Any help greatly appreciated.

A little off topic, but just two cents if it's from waypoints in your Gps
unit...
Most Garmin Gps units can display Coordinates in may different formats.
Look for a menu item like "Units" , or something similar.
You would want to switch Garmin's units (or most Gps units for that matter)
from something like
hddd mm.mmm
to
hddd.ddddd

You should be able to export to MapSourse Program, and print out waypoints
in this newer format as well.
Again, just two cents.

thanks for that but it wasn't what I was looking for, it was a little too
time consuming for me. I continued my search and just to help anyone else
who may be interested particularly when trying to use MS Maps or Google Maps,
I found this site:

This is exactly what I was looking for and it is not a converter as such,
all you have to do is enter the post or zip code, choose the country and you
are up and running. I had over 100 locations completed within a few hours.
