Converting field codes to plain text

Does anyone know if I can covert fields codes to plain text? I am creating a
Table of Contents by using the toggle field feature in Word. I want to remove
the codes but keep the text. Is it possible?

Select the TOC field, and press Ctrl+Shift+F9.
