converting excel formula into module

Hi,
I am not quite familiar with writing custom function in module, could you
help to convert the following excel formula?

=IF(LEFT(J3,1)="1",IF(AW3>0,"dated on
"&AQ3,IF(AO3>0,"waiting",INDEX($1:3,1,SMALL(IF(AR3:AT3>0,COLUMN(AR3:AT3)),COLUMN(2:2))))))
