Why am I not able to automatically open .wps files in Outlook 2007. In order
to open these files, I must save the file, then open Word 2007, change the
format to works at the bottom, and then open the file.
With a premium office suite, such as Office 2007 Business, I should not have
to jump through these hurdles.
Is there a shorter way, or can I somehow tell Outlook to allways open the
..wps files using Word?

Not an Outlook issue. Outlook follows your system defaults. If you cannot
open wps-files directly from within Explorer you won't be able to open them
directly from Outlook either.

Tried associating wps-files with Word already? From within Explorer Right
click on the file-> Open With...

Thanks for the answer. It was the proper one. I was spouting why Office
(Outlook) 2007 did not automatically recognize another MS application.

Because they are both different applications. wps is not a default file
format of Word so it doesn't claim it as a default upon installation but you
can force it of course after installation (like you did now).
