Hello

Want to know if I can bring up a word document up in Fontpage and then convert it into HTML in Frontpage. I am aware that Word has the "Save as html" feature but wanted to find out if Frontpage can do the conversion. Also, more importantly, if an existing HTML file has to be modified, can I pull up the file in FP and add new info without knowing HTML coding

Appreciate any help on this.

Thanks !

Yes you can convert .doc files to html in FP
See http://sbrenjoy.bizland.com/frontpage/word.htm

And you can edit html files in Design / Page View

I am going to guess from your question that you are not
currently a Front Page user. If this assumption on my
part is correct, let me provide the following insights:

Front Page is a program that allows you for the most part
to escape the inner workings of HTML. If you do want to
peridoically dabble in HTML, Front Page does let you do
this.

Word is a word processing program which purports to
output in HTML format. Don't use it for that. I repeat,
Word is a word processing program. Do you web development
in Front Page. That is what it is designed for.

You can leverage your Word skills when you are learning
Front Page as the program look and feel have much in
common. You will have to spend some time learning the
differences. One huge difference is that Word tables and
HTML tables behave differently due to the differences is
the media is which they will be displayed ... paper for
word and browser pages for Front Page.

I hope this helps your understanding.
