Hi Ram,

You can use File=>Save (or in Word 2007, Office Button=>Save As=>Other Format and choose the RTF file type from the drop down
choices.

Note that if you have graphics in your document the file may be noticably larger when saved as RTF does not compress as well as
other Word formats.
