I have received a ps file and am unable to open it. I get "This file cannot
be previewed because there is no previewer installed for it"-- Does anyone
know what i need to do? I have saved it to a folder and have looked into
varies free converters on line. I would like to convert it to a png format
as this seems to be something we can view here. Any help would be
appreciated.

A PS file is a postscript formatted file. That's a postscript ready file.

The file is a Post Script file, usually created through Adobe. Try opening
it with Adobe Reader.
Otherwise, send an email back to the person who sent it to you and tell them
to save the image correctly as a jpg, bmp or png

Thanks for your suggestions. I have sent a message to the sender and asked
if they could try and sent it in a different format, not sure if they can ...
I did try to open it in Adobe and got this message: "Adobe Reader could not
open it because it is either not a supported file type or because the file
has been damaged (for example it was sent as a email attachment and wasn't
correctly decoded). Any other thoughts?
