If the image is actually the slide background itself (can't click on it to
select it), try this:

Click "File", "Save as", change the "save as type" from PPT (default
PowerPoint file type) to JPG (images). It will ask if you want to save this
slide ort all slides. Now you have JPGs of each of the slides you want.

If the image is on the slide (can click on it to select it), try this:

Click the image, press CTRL-C, open Microsoft Photo Editor (or some other
graphics type program), click the "Edit menu and select "Paste as new image"
(might be something else for anything but Photo Editor). Click "File",
"Save as", and save it as a JPG.

Do you want jpgs of entire slides from the presentation? If so, choose File,
Save as, pick JPG as your Save As Type and give the file a name. PowerPoint
will ask whether you want to save just the current slide or all of the slides
in your presentation. Choose what you want and go.

If you only want certain images from within a particular slide, you can use the
method above and then crop out the parts you don't want with an image editing
program or:

Select the image you want, then choose Edit, Copy
Switch to MS Photo Editor and choose Edit, Paste as new Image
Save the result.
