I am changing computers and need to keep all of my old messages but do not
want to load them all into outlook as it is too slow already.

I'd like to be able to search for words or issues.

How can I do this? What format can they be turned into or what will be used
to open them when I need to look back?

Move your messages into one or more Personal Folder .pst files. Copy these to
your new system, but open them in Outlook only when you need to search. When
done searching, close the .pst

I don't follow you. Are you saying to have them in some folder that I
navigate to and "open with" Outlook? I don't want outlook looking at them
all the time. It is a slow monster that takes over the computer.

I read that I cold covert to pdf with my Acrobat Pro, but for some reason my
"create pdf" does not show up in Outlook.
