Our school has finally switched from MAC to Windows. Unfortunately, all my
documents are in Appleworks. How and/or where can I find a conversion.
Problem... my school will not pay for the program. Is there a trial
conversion I can use. I have searched and can't find anything.

Hi courtneys

I don't know how old your version of Appleworks is, but all recent
versions can export at least some of their files in formats that Windows
programs can read.

For text documents, use File > Save As and choose Microsoft Word for
Windows (there might be several options, so choose the latest version).
Be sure that after the name of the file you put a period and then doc;
say for example, Mytextfile.doc . Or you could save as RTF (Rich Text
Format) which all Windows word processors can read. Again follow the
same rules for naming the file: in this case it would be filename.rtf .

If you won't be needing to edit the Windows document, you could also
choose PDF, which I think is done through the Print menu in Appleworks.

Have you tried VINC?

You could download the trial version for the MAC (no trial for
Windows) then go from there.
