I trying to set up a computer to log on to the internet in the middle
of the night and perform a Live Update for NAV. It logs on to the Net
just fine, but because it is a scheduled task running under a
different (non-visual) account, XP does not see the network activity
of a Browser or Outlook Express and after a given interval logs off
automatically. I have turned off Auto-Disconnect and will see if that
completes successfully this evening, but that leaves me with a
different problem.
The office with this machine has limited phone lines and during the
day the system should disconnect from the Net when not in use, whether
by user prompt or automatically. I see myself needing to accomplish
one of two things-
-Setting up some sort of command line script that will disconnect that
I can run after browser sessions or after Live Update is complete
-A script that manipulates the phone connection properties - turning
off Auto-Disconnect before running Live Update, then running another
that turns it on again at 7:00 AM or something like that.
Is there any documentation of an object model or API to manipulate
Windows Internet Connections? I would prefer a command-line, Windows
Scripting type of scenario, but am very capable of writing code in COM
or .NET to accomplish the tasks if need be.
