Is there any way to disable 'control userpasswords2' from opening in certain
accounts?

Hi,

You can add "Control.exe" to the disallow list.

See "Method 2" in this article:

Thanks for your reply. Didn't seem to work, I'm running Windows XP Home SP2
so it probably doesn't work for home edition. Thanks anyway!

The edit works just fine here (running Windows XP Pro).

- - -
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\DisallowRun]
"1"="control.exe"

- - -

Logoff and login back for the change to take effect.

Also if I do that surely it will disable the whole control panel? As wehn I
run control.exe it opens the control panel?

You can still access Control Panel from Start menu or using other methods, by not by typing Control.exe.
