Control Panel Registry

My sound stopped working in the middle of the day. When I open the control
panel and click on the SoundMax button, I get an error message:
Control Panel Registry entry is corrupted

We have 2 user accounts on this computer (VPR Matrix). I only get the error
message in one account, but the sound won't work in either account.

I've gone through all the troubleshooting steps and nothing seems amiss. We
did a system restore to the day before, but that didn't help either. I
checked to make sure the Volume Control was checked in the Add/Remove window.

Should I uninstall and reinstall SoundMax? Is there another fix?

Martha
