I have windows xp-home edition, and I cannot open my
control panel. People are telling me I have a
damaged .cpl file. How do I fix this problem the easy way
(are there downloads that can fix this problem). I'm a
beginner, and not sure I can do it without a download!

Which control panel applets are not opening? All of them? Do a search for
*.cpl and try opening the applets themselves.

I can't open anything in the control panel so I assume
all of them!
