- My control panel crashes on XP. But after a reboot it is fine.

- Due to some other problems, not related to Control Panel crash, I get blue
screen of death on my Dell Inspiron 5100. Most of the times the driver is
unknown, but when i checked the last time for any driver problems, once I got
that it was my ATI driver that caused problems, and the other time it was the
smart pad.

Now the question is how do I find out which drivers to down load and from
where? How do I know which ATI card is installed on my system and how do I
know which Smart pad is installed on my system?

Does Microsoft carry these teo drivers for Dell Inspiron 5100?

Thanks
J Shaikh

Best to avoid the MS drivers, the Dell site would be the place to
start I would think, if no resolution there, try the google archives
as there as been a number of post here regarding ATI graphics
drivers and Dell machines recently.

Go to device manager and check. Dell has a support software called Dell
Support which when installed on your machine will keep your dell updated and
keep you informed of what is in your Dell.
