Control Panel, Autoplay not responding...

So many problems.. don't know if they are related? I was trying to install
itunes with quickplay. I get some error message about not being able to
access the autoplay prompt. So I went to the control panel, which takes about
3 minutes to load.. and when i go to the autoplay and try to change the
setting to "ask me every time" it won't save and says "not responding". What
is going on? so frustrating!
