When I have an IE-7 window open and I hold down the CTRL key and left click
with the mouse, my system launches a new IE window. I was attempting to
select mulitple items from a pull down menu on the Monster website when I
discovered this.

I have tried switching keyboards, re-loading the keyboard driver and
restoring my system to Nov. 27. Additionally I recently upgraded to IE-7 and
installed McAfee Internet Security Suite. I have a second system with the
same software and upgrades but it does not exhibit the problem.

Any help in resolving this problem would be appreciated.

Shift + left click should open a link in a new window.

Are you sure that you're hitting Ctrl? It is very easy to hit Shift instead
of Ctrl.

Hope this helps. Let us know.

I was going to suggest dumping IE7 and going back to IE6.

Glad you got it fixed. ;-)

BTW, IE7 seems to cause all kinds of trouble.
