Anyone had any luck remote controlling their desktop pc via bluetooth and an
ipaq 2210 ?

I have tried the terminal services program along with remote desktop on xp
pro and also vpn.

When I try to log on with terminal services and remote desktop it kicks the
user on the xp box out and logs in from the ipaq, by which time the
bluetooth dongle has dropped and the connection is lost anyway during
switching users.

With VPN I get asked for a password and then it goes on further and I get a
couple of icons at the top of my ipaq and then it goes back to file explorer
where I ran the file from. I have windows mobile 2003 and I downloaded the
arm version for ppc.

Anybody any ideas and has anyone had any bluetooth success with an ipaq to
remote control their pc or is it impossible ?

Well, I occasionally use TSC from my iPAQ 5555 over an 802.11b link to my home LAN to access XP Pro
desktops running Remote Desktop. One thing I found is if the Remote Desktop encryption level is set
to "High" versus the default or "Client Compatible" the PocketPC will not be able to log in. This
is because the PocketPC TSC only uses 64-bin encryption versus the "High" 128-bit encryption.

The encryption level is set using a Group Policy. Here are the XP Resource Kit sections that talk
about this...

Otherwise, you might consider posting to the
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...ketpc.wireless news group for help with PocketPC BT
issues.

Is this on your home LAN or over the public internet or a corporate network?
