Continuously Reboots - Can not load XP

On the morning of September 27, 2004 I turned on my
computer, and waited for Windows XP to load. The
computer never booted in to Windows XP Pro. Instead it
keeps rebooting before getting into Widows continuously
unless I turn the computer off. If I try to boot in to
Safe-Mode I am able to get all the way to the user Login
screen, but after I type in my password and press Enter
the computer reboots.

Prior to this happening I was on the computer the
previous night and remember lowering my Firewall settings
on McAffe, because of having trouble to sync Quicken with
my on-line banking. I feel that this may have left my
computer open to a virus. I tried installing the Sasser
A-F Virus Patch, but it will not install in DOS. I
usually stay updated with the Microsoft Updates, so I do
not know if the virus is the Sasser Worm.

If you are updated it is not Sasser since one of the recent patches
protects against Sasser.

At the menu, choose "Last known good configuration" instead of "Safe
Mode"

Otherwise perform a Repair Installation:
