Outlook 2007 seems to be stuck in a continuous send and receive mode. I've
disabled automatic send and receive with no effect.

When I look at the details window it looks like it just keeps going and
going and going.....

Perhaps you have a corrupt Send/Receive Group Settings file. You can try
renaming the file while Outlook is closed and letting Outlook create a new
one next time you open it (and then customize it again). See
http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup2007.asp for locations of Outlook 2007
files.

Thanks for the tip Jocelyn.

I tried this and Outlook rebuilt the file (4x larger) but does not seemed to
have arrested the contiuous s & r problem.

The progress windows continues to show Outlook cycling through my accounts
with no apparent end in sight.

OK, the next thing to try is to recreate your mail profile. Instructions can
be found at http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/newprofile.htm.

Used your advice and successfully re-created a mail profile that doesn't have
the annoying s-r cycle.

Thanks so much.

Well I'm back to my old problem again......

After having recreated my erathlink pop acounts and running smoothly for a
few weeks, I decided to add my web.com e-mail account and it's back to the
continuous send and receive mode.

I deleted the web.com account and it didn't resolve my problem.

So any more suggestions? I'm assuming it's related to this one account and
although I could go through the process of establishing a new mail profile,
it seems that there must be something else that can be done.

Hi Barry,
I had the exact same problem, but I found it was something to do with my
wireless keyboard (Logitec) and it was through process of elimination that I
found it. I re-built my system (Format hard drive and start again loading the
software) and once I loaded the software for the keyboard, the Send/Recieve
was stuck on. But when I loaded it again (Re-built) this time with the
keyboard software before Office it was fine.
Because the keyboard has a shortcut to open email, I guess it was this that
was messing it up
Hope that helped
Regards
John
