Hi,I have a 13 month old p4 2.45 with XP home. It has
just had to have it's hardrive replaced. All is now well
except that I can hear it every 5 to 10 sec acessing the
harddrive. I have used msconfig to try to identify what
process/service or program that is doing this, but cannot
identify. Firstly is this read write ok ? or am I on the
way to another harddrive. If not any hints how I can find
the culpert.I have McAfee virus software running.

Open Control Panel and click on the FIND FAST applet.
If there are items there, delete them. Click INDEX|CLOSE & STOP...
and see if this makes a difference.
