Hi can anyone help please.

Currently use Norton with firewall.
I am constantly getting firewall warning saying

MS_RPC_DCOM_Buffer overflow

can anyone please tell me more.

Your firewall is protecting you, but if you run NT4/Win2k/XP I'd get the
patch applied anyway (and several of the other recent security patches).
There is no such thing as 'too much' protection, and today's 'enough'
may turn out to be too little tomorrow.
