This folder under <\docs&settings\username\local settings\temp internet
files\content.ie5> (hiden folders) is over 10GB now and takes hours to scan
with the virus pgm. The virus pgm used to take a few hours total. Dose the
same with MS's new Live Safety Center. Anyone know of this problem or if this
is suppose to be normal.

Temporary Internet FilesHi,
First, clear the IE cache. This might take a while. IE> Tools> Internet
Options> General> Delete files (and delete offline content when that dialog
pops up) It's usually recommended that the TIF folder be kept at about 50-60
MB (Settings.)

It might be worthwhile to delete the Temporary Internet Files folder and get
a fresh start.

Make sure that you can see hidden files (Folder Options> View) Then
login as another user with administrator privileges, or from the machine's
default administrator account (startup in safe mode) and delete the affected
TIF folder from Windows Explorer. It will be at [C:\Documents and
Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files] A new folder will
be created on restart.

315222 - A description of the Safe Mode Boot options in Windows XP:

Hope this helps,
Don

Thanks for your help! However, I am unable to 1. delete offline content (sys
hangs, 2. unable to view any fiiles/folders except some cookie files, 3. In
'Safe' mode cannot delete due to folder being a system folder. This TIF is
undewr the admn user. Any other ideas. A couple of the subfolders are
<\Content.IE5\ot67sxqn> if this helps.
Thanks
