Windows Live Mail will give you a warning that deleting an
account will delete all the folders and messages associated with
that account. I know that warning is in a relatively small font and is
easily overlooked. In my opinion, this was a terrible design decision
for the WLM developers to tie deleting an account with deleting
everything associated with that account.
Tech support folks who are used to telling users to delete and re-add
an account haven't yet come to grips with what that does in WLM.
Sorry, I don't know of any way to get those messages back.
