In my Outlook Address Book Contacts I have entries "Display Name" in three
different format. One
Names only, one email address only. and third one Names and email address in
brackets. I face the same problem when I enter a new contact details for
"Display As". I also
import addresses from Access tables. On technical grounds which is the best
option?

Please answer also which is the best choice to export/import to an external
program. Access or Excel.

It doesn't really matter which program you import from. They should all use
the default display as settings unless they define a display name field.

You can use VBA to change the email display names and file as names, if you
want them uniform.
