How can I check that the pts file has all of my contacts and inbox
information?

Well, if you can see it, the data file has it

Use the Folder List view and go through each folder to see what's in it. It
will either be the .PST file you were expecting to see or not. The entire
contents of the .pst are shown across the various Outlook folders (eg
Calendar, Contacts, Notes, Inbox, Tasks)
