Hi there. I contacted tech support for Messenger about
this issue but the solution they suggested didn't help.
Here's the story:
I recently changed my MSN passport from my old hotmail
name to the yahoo.com address. Actually, I registered a
new passport first with my LJ e-mail and then I clicked
the "I need to change this" link from within the LJ
passport and changed the address to the yahoo one. Then I
tried importing my contacts from the hotmail name to the
yahoo one and it said add requests were sent out. My
friends have said they've added me, but they no longer see
me and I no longer see them, though if I sign in with the
hotmail name, I see them okay. Tech support suggested I re-
import the contacts, which I tried, but to no avail.
I was hoping this problem would fix itself, but apparently
not, and I don't want it to last indefinitely. I tried
uninstalling and reinstalling Messenger, but that didn't
help. BTW, I'm not getting alerts that people have added
me, even though the box is ticked in the preferences. Help?
