User cannot see some contacts. User 1 and User 2 have access to a senior
officer's contacts. User 1 can see a contact 'smith' but user 2 cannot.
Neither are using cached mode and both show the same amount of contacts in
the folder. There is no filter enabled. I tried opening outlook via
/cleanview switch and that did not help. I logged in via another machine and
- same result. Both have the same permissions on the officer's contact
folder. Any ideas?

Hi SJMP,

As the two users both show the same amount of contacts in the folder, the contact 'smith' should be listed in the user2's Outlook.
Follow the steps below to see if you can manually locate it in the user2's Outlook.

Open the specific Contacts folder.
Click the View menu > Arranged By > Current View > By Category.
Right click the column name and click "Field Chooser" > drag the First Name and the Last Name to the column name.
Click the column name 'First Name' or 'Last Name' to sort the contact items.

Are you able to find the contact 'smith' in user2's Outlook? If so, are you able to search smith in the contacts folder?

If anything is unclear or if you have any other concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Regards,

Emily Lin
