Contact names (Presence Display option) not available.

Hi, i'm using outlook 2007 on a windows 7 environment ,
i have noticed that the presence monitor (at the left of the contacts name
in e-mails) is not working
i have gone to the tools , options, others, menu and the Presence
information check box's are not available.

How can i activate this check box ??
