constantly growing security log

the security log on my computer is constantly growing and reaches the
maximum size within hours. I have found sometimes more than 10
security audit entries within a second. I have tried to stop services
but could not locate which program is causing the problem. The
computer is virus scanned and I have installed all important M$
updates.

What events ?
If this is Pro, what are your security auditing settings ?
