Constantly get "Not Responding"

's Computer Specifications

Whenever I click on an email to open it or to change an email address i have
to wait until whatever clears and the program will respond? It does get very
frustrating and I have tried getting rid of folders and saved emails to see
if that will help. all to no avail. I would really appreciate an answer to
this problem/
