constant reinstall of printer drivers

I have a home peer to peer network of three machines that are connected through a linksys router. All machines can see and communicate with each other, including sharing a broadband connection.

On one of the machines I have a HP R60 directly attached through a parallel port. It is shared over the network. On the other two machines, I can see the printer over the network and add it as a default printer. Once thats done, I can print from all of the machines

The problem is that every so often when I try to print a document from either of the two machines that share the printer over the network, I have to reinstall the drivers to print. Once I reinstall the drivers, all is well until sometime in the future where I'll have to once again reinstall the printer drivers
