constant dhcp client errors on winxp yet no dhcp/bootp traffic??

My WinXP laptop is getting dhcp client errors every 5 minutes in
EventViewer...yet my connection never seems to have gone down and my
dhcp server logs/leases show nothing awry.

I even hooked up Ethereal for 20mins to check dhcp traffic...and guess
what? There was none...

I have linux server providing dhcp, ddns, samba/wins to 5 windows
clients (mix of 2K and XP).

The constant stream of errors is really starting to tick me off...any
suggestions?
