yes the computer will boot fine the hard drive is a segate and this is the
second one that has been put in this machine. consistency checks are not a new thing to this computer and never have been as it did the same thing with the other drive that it does with this one... I have had it in the shop different times and have had others look at it and from what they can tell everything runs fine. this is the first time I have gotten a consistency error that is like this though.. -- Four Generations Of Trust And Betrayal...One Legacy Skywolfe "Gerry" wrote: > Rage Skywolfe > > Does the computer still boot? Run the drive manufacturers test utility: http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/sup...loads/seatools You say your drive is a Seagate. What model? Try HD Tune only gives information and does not fix any problems. Download and run it and see what it turns up. You want HD Tune (freeware) version 2.55 not HD Tune Pro (not Freeware) version 3.00. http://www.hdtune.com/ Select the Info tabs and place the cursor on the drive under Drive letter and then double click the two page icon ( copy to Clipboard ) and copy into a further message. Select the Health tab and then double click the two page icon ( copy to Clipboard ) and copy into a further message. Make sure you do a full surface scan with HD Tune. -- Hope this helps.
