Connectors look aligned until slide show mode

Hi. I'm using PowerPoint 2003 and have created an org chart using text boxes
and connectors. I'm viewing the document at 100% and the lines look
perfectly aligned. If I view it at 75% or slide show mode, several of the
lines go out of alignment. Same thing happens when I print.

I'm wondering if there is a way to make it so the lines are always aligned
no matter the percent you are viewing your document or if it's in slide show
mode.

Thanks.

Select all the objects you want to align.
Go to the Draw menu in the drawing abr.
Select Aligne and distribute and then click ont the alignement you want

Unless I'm misunderstanding, that is not what I'm looking for.

I have an org chart with multiple managers, all with people reporting to them.

Manager A has 5 employees reporting to him. The connectors going from
Manager A to each of the employeds look perfectly aligned with each other.
But when I put it in slide show mode, the line going to employee 1 may no
longer line up with the lines going to the other employees. Or it could be
the line going to employee 3 does not line up with the others. It's random.

It's difficult to explain but I hope that is a little more clear.

Thanks,
Donna

Hi Donna

That sounds annoying! Here's what I would do:
1. Check for updates to Powerpoint
2. Check for updates to graphic card driver
3. Play with graphics hardware acceleration
(http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00129.htm)
4. Round trip the presentation (http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00526.htm)

Let us know how you get on.

Lucy

Almost. If you are in regular mode (not slide show), the lines look
perfectly aligned like on your page that says "align".

Then when I go into slide show mode, the line shifts minimally, not with a
space anywhere near like your "not aligned" slide. It's like one line shifts
but is still touching the other lines, but the fact that it isn't perfectly
aligned is clearly visible.

The line seems thicker.
Maybe suppress the connector and add a new one instead. Does that work
better?

Lucy, thanks for this info. I'll have to involve the MIS Dept. I was hoping
it was a well known problem with an easy fix. I thought for sure it would be
a big problem known by everyone.

Yes, it seems thicker but I know it's not. It is just not perfectly aligned
with all the other connectors.

I deleted it and added a new one but it doesn't help.

I did a small test org chart. If I simply connect all lines to the boxes at
the connect points, there is perfect alignment. It's when I have to start
adjusting lines by dragging the yellow diamond that they aren't always
perfect. Although very many of the lines I do drag do end up being perfectly
aligned.
