Connection's status

Hello, I have in my desktop a shortcut to a connection created in the
Network and Dial-Up Connections applet. It works to connect and disconnect
from an ADSL provider.
However, when I right click it and select Status I expect the status dialog
to appear. Nothing appears. No errors either. Also, even though I set up it
to "show icon in task bar when connected", there's no such icon.
I suspect it's related to some registry problem I had days ago. Can this be
the lack of some registry entry?

Thanks.

C.

"some registry problem I had days ago"

Details may help. What happens if you logon as a new user? (create a new
account in 'Users and Passwords').

I thought in that possibility, Patrick. This is Win 2k Pro. I created new
users (normal, with admin privileges), etc and the status dialog doesn't
appear, hence I suspect something may be disassociated in the registry. I
don't know what kind of interface allows creating this dialog.

If the problem goes away then the profile is corrupt.

Do yourself an favor and blow away (delete) the problem Connection in
Network and Dial-up connections (after recording pertinent details).
Then build a new one. Often this resolves a multitude of strange
behaviors. It may just work in your case although I cannot say that
it necessarily will do so.

Hmm, I tried that and still no connection status neither tray icon... it
seems the problem is worse.
