Connection problem

I apologise in advance for posting this again but no one
seems to have a solution to this one, so I thought I would
try again.

My problem:-

I have a WK2 Server running active directory as a domain
controller.This system has the dialup modem in it.
I have a XP system that connects to the domain as a client,
I am trying to get the XP system to use the Dialup modem
with demand dial in the server to get onto the internet.
I can not get it to work. Both systems are connected to
each other via a crossover cable. IP address of server
192.168.0.1/24, XP 192.168.0.2/24

i have tried the following:-

I have enabled ICS on the modem which in
turn sets the IP address on the Server NIC to
192.168.0.1/24. I enabled Auto IP on the XP systems NIC
and then connected to the internet on the Server, once
connected I logged on as the administrator on the XP
system and opened IE and I couldn't look at any web sites
or collect email on the XP system. I have no firewalls
enabled as I am trying all this. I must be doing something
wrong.

I have also configured NAT as another way because someone
said that ICS is not a good idea for a domain contoller.

Configuration of NAT as follows:-

Server:-
Private interface - LAN adapter on the Server (other end
connects to XP system LAN adapter)
Public interface - Dialup connection on the Server

XP system:-
LAN adapter Auto IP and Auto DNS

Still nothing
Someone please help me before I blow my mine on this one.
