Connection Pooling. How to recover after failure?

Hello. I am using the .net framework 1.1 Oracle DLL but after some DB
failure or Server restarted the .net framework never or after a long time,
detect this and reset al connection.

So, until the framework detect this "problem"... all Conn.Open() call throws
the same exception, even when the Oracle DB is working properly.

So, is possible to do something to prevent this?
