Hi,

We have got a Win2k3 SP1 server as print server and ADC. We have a
Xerox document centre C450 printer & scanner installed, shared and
published in the directory via this server. If I want to map printer
on any of the machines on the domain, I just go to Start --> Run --> \
\printservername and get the list of shared printers. I double click
on the printer I want to map and then set it as default one. All the
machines on domain have WinXP SP2 installed.

For one of the users this has stopped working. When I go to \
\printservername it asks to enter username and password (of user)
which I do and printer is mapped as all the permissions are working
fine. But It works fine until user is logged in.As soon as the user
logs out, it stops working. The printer remains as the default printer
in control panel but doesn't print anything.

I have tried this on other users computers and when I try to access \
\printservername it doesn't ask for the password and comes up straight
away with the list of shared printers on the network. It happens for
only one user.

Is there any authentication issue between the user's computer and the
printer server? I have checked all the user permission and they are
correct.

Please help.

Thanks,
Himanshu
