I am having exactly the same problem when using Azureus. I've got a 3 Com
Gigabite on board NIC running through a Netgear Router/Modem. My internet is
normal until I fire up Azureus, which quickly takes over the connection.
E-mails seem to be unaffected, but surfing is a no go. It's as if Explorer
and Azureus both won't run at the same time. Even when I shut down Azureus,
the connection seems to be there for some time afterwards. Often I cannot
connect with Explorer at all and have to restart the PC to regain my
connection. i did an experiment by uninstalling Azureus and installing
another client called Bit Tornado. Running Bit Tornado had exactly the same
effect!
I'm absolutely baffled!
